About the role
We are currently recruiting for Catering Assistants to join our amazing team at Sunrise of Chorleywood located within a short walk from Rickmansworth and Chorleywood tube station on the Metropolitan line.
We are looking for people who are able to work 30 hours per week on a shift basis over weekdays and weekends. Our shift patterns are 7am-3pm, 11am-7pm or 7am-7pm. As we’re proud of being an employer of choice we’ve introduced our new career pay progression awards in recognition of our team members length of service and contribution . We will give you a 10p enhancement on your hourly rate after 6 months service, 20p after 12 months and 30p for 2 year’s service.
If you are looking for career development then this role could be for you as we offer opportunities to obtain new skills and complete further training up to NVQ3 in catering, food preparation and food hygiene. There is also the possibility to embark on Management and Team Lead training and workshops. The day to day role also give the successful candidate the chance to be involved in special event catering and the ability to be responsible for certain areas of the menu - for example cake making and decorating (if that is a particular interest).

As Catering Assistant you will assist with the preparation and serving of meals to our residents, ensuring all special dietary needs are met and prepare texture modified food as directed. you will maintain records and control stock rotation, ensure the kitchen and service areas are clean and hygienic at all times.
- Experience in the catering services is beneficial although not essential.
- Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
- Possess good judgement, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Food handling course qualification desirable
