Our delightful community kitchen, enables residents to make refreshments, entertain visitors or just sit and enjoy a cup of tea. All rooms are single occupancy and fully furnished. Residents are most welcome to personalise their rooms to make it feel like home. There are a variety of specialised bathrooms which ensure that residents can remain as independent as possible.
The CQC’s Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care said about Grace Muriel House, “People living at the home felt they were treated as individuals and they mattered. The care people received was personalised, staff paid attention to detail and demonstrated pride, passion and enthusiasm for those they supported. They continuously looked for ways to ensure people had positive experiences and led fulfilling lives."
Aim of The Home
The home's aim is to provide the highest possible standards of residential care for older people. They provide both long stay and respite care. The friendly, professional staff are on hand 24 hours a day to ensure all needs are catered for. They have over 45 years’ experience in caring for the elderly, supporting both residents and their families.
Grace Muriel is a member of the Abbeyfield Society who work within their principles and have achieved the Abbeyfield Quality Standard which ensures you’ll always receive the highest quality of care. The care staff get to know each resident and welcome the active involvement of friends and relatives. All staff are experts when it comes to delivering care and supporting both residents and their families with kindness and compassion. Everyone is treated with the utmost dignity and respect whilst promoting independence.
Staff have the very latest training, with all new staff completing the Care Certificate to ensure they meet our high standards of care. Residents often find their health and well being greatly improves when they no longer have to worry about the challenges of living independently.
Grace Muriel offers an extensive activity programme within the home, this is with a dedicated team of activity coordinators, who understand the importance of the residents emotional and physical well-being. There are trips to a variety of places, with groups to the theatre, garden centre, parks, seaside and for lunch. And sometimes just taking one resident shopping.
